The River City Blaskapelle is a
25 member brass and woodwind
band based in West Bend,
Wisconsin that performs
authentic German music. The group was formed in 1986 by several members of West Bend's community
band who had a profound interest in performing music of their German
heritage.
The band's arrangements are comprised of German and Czech polkas,
waltzes, ländlers and fox trots.
The band's music is imported from Germany
and is the same music performed
by famous German brass bands such as Ernst Mosch,
Neue Bohmische Blasmusik, Robert Payer and Slavko Avsenik.
The band's popularity has grown while
performing at
German Fests and Oktoberfest celebrations including
the United German Societies of Milwaukee Oktoberfest, Schawbenhof Oktoberfest,
Mai Fest, German-American Day in
Stone
Bank and West Bend Germanfest.
